Women In Trouble
There's shades of Pedro Almodovar in this exuberantly colourful precursor to Elektra Luxx. It focuses on ten women on the verge of various emotional states - ranging from a pregnant hardcore porn star with a soft heart (the aforesaid Ms Luxx, played by Carla Gugino) and a pair of hapless call girls (Adrianne Palicki and Emmanuelle Chriqui) to a therapist who needs advice of her own. Director Sebastian Gutierrez, who wrote Snakes on a Plane, keeps up a searing pace as introduces an ever-growing cast of problem cases...all of them with one thing in common - trouble. Look out for a cameo from Josh Brolin as a washed-up British rock star.
