An unhappy wannabe mother is pitched into a well-heeled discomfort zone when she is invited to spend the summer at a Tuscan farmhouse with two fractured, middle-class English families. Kathryn Worth plays the awkward thirty-something forced to get down with the kids as they drink, carouse and offer the hint of sexual possibilities in the dusty heat. Director Joanna Hogg's feature debut takes its influences from the French for its analysis of the bourgeoisie at play.
