John Hughes put the Brat Pack on the map with this simple but fiendishly entertaining story of five high-schoolers who bond and bicker to dispel the boredom of a Saturday spent in detention. Molly Ringwald is the popularity queen, Emilio Estevez the jock, Ally Sheedy the goth, Anthony Michael Hall the nerd, and Judd Nelson the bad boy. As usual, Hughes jams the locker with comedy, pathos and an anthemic 80s soundtrack.
