Dead Poets Society
Peter Weir's much-loved drama stars Robin Williams as John Keating, an English teacher who brings his unconventional but inspirational methods to a stuffy private school in late-1950s Vermont. Ethan Hawke and Robert Sean Leonard are among the students who take his teachings to heart in this drama that succeeds almost entirely down to Williams's inspired performance. Robocop villain Kurtwood Smith and Norman Lloyd are among the parents and teachers who don't like what they're hearing.
