Jaded yet mega-successful Hollywood actor Johnny Marco (Stephen Dorff) lives out his empty days in Hollywood's hotel-of-choice the Chateau Marmont. Time is spent filling the hours with pole-dancing twins, swigging beer, meaningless flings with all-too-willing hotties and the occasional micro-managed foray to a movie junket. However, he's forced to re-examine his life after his 11-year-old daughter (Elle Fanning) surprises him with a visit. Director Sofia Coppola paints a grim, all-too-believable picture of Tinseltown ennui enlivened by a wryly understated performance from Dorff.
