Harold and Maude
Death-fixated, 20-year-old Harold (Bud Cort) and eccentric 79-year-old Maude (Ruth Gordon) strike up an unlikely relationship when they meet at a funeral. This pitch-black comedy from Hal Ashby features Harold attempting suicide in front of three prospective wives set up by his mother. Thirty-odd years on, it still has the power to shock and offend just about anyone.
