Dovetailing gorily with the end of the original [REC], this sees a medical officer and a SWAT team fitted with video cameras sent into the sealed off Barcelona apartment to control the rampaging virus. What once appeared a simple contagion has now manifested itself as something demonic...and the body count is set to rise. Although they've attracted a bigger budget, the directing team of Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza wisely stick to the tried-and-tested shock tactics that made the original so gut-churningly memorable. Lord have mercy on their black souls.
