The Innocents
Deborah Kerr plays an inexperienced governess to an orphan who lives in a rambling country house with just a housekeeper and servants for company. When they start seeing apparitions, she begins to suspect there might be dark forces at work. Based on Henry James' The Turn of the Screw and inspiring the likes of The Haunting and The Others, this is a classic ghost story beautifully served by Kerr's understated performance.
