Sally Field does a sort of Charles Bronson in Death Wish as a woman who takes the law into her own hands to get even with her daughter's killer. When the rapist-murderer of her daughter gets off on a technicality, she takes matters into her own hands when the police won't act. The esteemed John Schlesinger directs and an A-list cast, including Kiefer Sutherland and Ed Harris, lift this above the run-of-the-mill.
