Classic teen romance from 1989 with John Cusack as a high-school loner who will do - if not say - anything to woo the brightest girl in class (Iona Skye). Love is tricky, but at the end of the day, all you need is a ghetto blaster and a tape of Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes... Director Cameron Crowe went on to complete romance class with Jerry Maguire and followed it up with the rock'n'roll story of his coming-of-age in Almost Famous - but nothing sets the heart fluttering like this. Makes you wonder what happened to the lovely Miss Skye, though.
