Wicked stepmothers are two-a-penny, but this no-frills thriller from Sea Of Love director Harold Becker finds John Travolta facing the wicked stepfather... of his own son. Vince Vaughn is the shady suitor who sweeps Travolta's ex-wife (Teri Polo) off her feet, but has more trouble winning over her boy - especially when the lad sees him committing a murder. Solid suspenser with added sleaze from Steve Buscemi.
