The Long Hot Summer
Smouldering adaptation of William Faulkner's novel 'The Hamlet' starring Paul Newman as a stranger who arrives in a small Mississippi town with a reputation as a barn-burning con man. None the less, prominent landowner Orson Welles hires him to work in his store in the belief that he might make a good husband for his schoolteacher daughter (Joanne Woodward). You just know it ain't gonna be so.
