Departures
A failed cellist - shell-shocked at the collapse of his orchestra - finds himself quitting Tokyo and is offered a surreal job at a remote town - preparing the bodies of the dead for burial. Rich character detail and a bizarre insight into the "encoffinments" - washing, dressing and grooming the body - make for a slightly odd but strangely satisfying watch.
