The Out-of-Towners (1970)
Neil Simon's darker-than-average comedy stars Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis as a wide-eyed couple from Ohio whose trip to New York leads from one calamity to another. Director Arthur Hiller delivers a fast-acting, sugar-free antidote to his own Love Story which was released in the same year. Remade in 1999 with Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn.
