From the opening scene where Alan Cumming's gymnastic mutant Nightcrawler scurries along the corridors of The White House, we know Bryan Singer's sequel is going to do the business. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen have to forget their differences to face up to Brian Cox's fascist military leader who wants the mutants wiped from the face of the Earth. Superior superhero stuff.
