Melancholia
It’s the end of the world as we know it in Danish director Lars Von Trier’s colliding-planet apocalypse. Kirsten Dunst sheds her good-girl Spider-Man image for a committed (literally) performance as a manic-depressive running hot and cold at her wedding reception as the planet Melancholia looms large in the sky. Starry support comes courtesy of Kiefer Sutherland, John Hurt and Charlotte Gainsbourg - all of whom remember not to mention the war - at this film’s Cannes press conference the provocative von Trier’s Nazi comments got him into a spot of bother…but he’s not a Nazi, he’s just a very naughty boy.
