True life sporting drama starring Denzel Washington as a black high-school football coach who fights prejudice at a newly integrated high school in the Seventies. He plays Herman Boone, a gym instructor whose appointment as coach for the TC Williams High Titans provokes anger from the man he replace - white head coach Bill Yoast (Will Patton). Based on actual events that took place in Virginia in 1971.
