In the Valley of Elah
America's invasion of Iraq literally comes home to haunt one soldier in writer/director Paul ‘Crash’ Haggis' supremely efficient crime drama. Charlize Theron impresses as the put-upon New Mexico cop who helps him out while Susan Sarandon is dignified in grief as the boy’s mother.
