The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
After spending twenty years languishing in the in-trays of some of Hollywood's finest, Douglas Adams' cult classic finally makes it to the big screen courtesy of debut British director Garth Jennings. Purists may carp, but the tale of Arthur Dent's sci-fi search for the meaning of life, the universe and everything is pretty much a job well done. The satirical thrust of the story stays true to Adams' spirit - a wry dig at man's omnipotent stupidity and this wallows in the chance to stick the knife in.
