Chinese orphan Mei Mei (Zhu Lin) gets the chance to visit Australia with her Beijing children's home choir. While in Sydney she also looks forward to the chance to meet her sponsor Randall (Guy Pearce) - the man who has been writing to her for years. However, what she doesn't realise is that Randall is in jail and his life is not the pretty picture it's been painted. But that's not going to stop her trying to meet him. Affecting Australian drama.
